As a result of being attacked by a police dog and then beaten by three police officers, a Washougal, Washington man, Ken Rogers, was awarded $1.785 million in punitive damages. The lawsuit stems from a July 13, 2003 when Rogers was mistakenly identified by a Kennewick police dog who followed the wrong scent into the backyard of a private residence where Rogers was sleeping. Police persuing a suspect riding a moped without a helmet or headlights. Payment was made to Rogers in April, 2009, as reported by newstribune.com. ![]()
